Leveraging Technology in Community Oncology Settings

In a recent Targeted Oncology article, Navista Chief Medical & Development Officer Nini Wu MD, MBA, discussed the evolving role of technology in community oncology practices. As administrative demands grow and care models shift, practices are seeking tools that improve efficiency without disrupting patient care.

Dr. Wu highlighted the importance of interoperability and thoughtful implementation. Many early digital tools created more work due to poor integration with existing systems. Today, scalable platforms that connect data and workflows are essential for supporting value-based care.

“As we think about the future, what we need to think about is not only the tools themselves, but the aspect of interoperability,” explained Dr. Wu.

The article also emphasizes the need for flexible patient engagement strategies. Not all patients are comfortable with digital tools, so practices must offer a range of communication options to ensure accessibility and continuity of care.
